Black & Blue experience

Black and Blue originated when Nick Hill and Alan Bacon decided there was a niche in the market to re-invent the steak house concept, using the best sourced, highest quality ingredients. Their goal was an upmarket - but casual - steak house: a destination without pretention. The name was a last minute choice - Black for well done and Blue for rare.

Prime cuts of beef, cooked to taste and served with fries, salad and a choice of sauces has become the Black & Blue trademark, though with a mouth-watering selection of lamb, chicken, fresh salmon fillet or tuna steak, and salad dishes, we offer something for everyone.

We are very pleased to have Mick, our fantastic flower man, who creates weekly sumptuous bouquets of seasonal flowers from the New Covent Garden Market, varying slightly according to each branch in order to create maximum impact.

To Black and Blue details such as linen napkins and well chosen music are essential to the ambience.

Artwork is also very important to us, and currently in most of our restaurants we have exhibitions by renowned British graphic artist Storm Thorgerson. Famed for his surreal placement of everyday objects within his art, some of his most recognisable and iconic work can be found on the album and single covers of Pink Floyd, Muse and Biffy Clyro.
